In cooperation with European Union, Federal Youth Authority, and Arab Youth Center, HCHF holds “World Youth Majlis” at Expo 2020 Dubai

The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity (HCHF) will kick off its celebrations of the International Day of Human Fraternity Day 2022 tomorrow, Wednesday, with holding a World Youth Majlis under the title “Human Fraternity Youth Majlis: Developing Human Fraternity across Various Sectors” at the Youth Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, in cooperation with the European Union, the Federal Youth Authority, and the Arab Youth Center in the United Arab Emirates.

The Youth Majlis will serve as a platform for interactive dialogue between a number of decision-makers and 30 young people from different countries on ways to promote the values of dialogue, coexistence, and human fraternity. The gathering will also provide an opportunity to review the pioneering experiences in this area between decision-makers and the participating youths.

Her Excellency Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, UAE’s Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, HCHF Secretary-General, and H.E. Andrea Matteo Fontana, European Union’s ambassador to the UAE, will be participating as keynote speakers in the Youth Majlis.

Judge Abdelsalam said the inauguration of the Committee’s celebrations of the International Day of Human Fraternity 2022 with this World Youth Majlis confirms the immense importance the HCHF attaches to youths. He stressed that youths are the future leaders, the generation on which we rely a lot in promoting and advancing the values of human fraternity to create a better future for all humanity.

He pointed out that this is not the first event the Committee holds for youths as it launched the “Human Fraternity Education and Leadership for Peace (HELP)” program to create a global youth movement to promote human fraternity values and practices. In 2022, the HCHF will organize the World Youth Summit, which will bring together 100 young people worldwide to engage in an educational experience aimed at qualifying young leaders to spread the values of dialogue, peace, coexistence, and human fraternity, added Abdelsalam.

The HCHF is organizing several events and activities as part of its celebration of the International Day of Human Fraternity, which commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity Document by His Holiness Pope Francis, head of the Catholic Church, and Grand Imam of Al-Azhar professor Ahmed Al-Tayeb in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, 2019. These events are scheduled to culminate in announcing the winner(s) of the Zayed International Award for Human Fraternity, worth one US million dollars, on February 4.
