In Rememberence of the late Cardinal Miguel Ángel Ayuso
Miguel Angel Ayuso Guixot, born in Seville, Spain, was the President of the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity and a member of the Congregation of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus (M.C.C.J.).
He received a license in Arabic and Islamic Studies from the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies and a doctorate in dogmatic theology from the University of Granada.
Cardinal Ayuso, was ordained a bishop by Pope Francis in 2016, has been the Secretary for the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue since 2012. He represented the Vatican in dialogue with Al-Azhar’s Grand Imam, contributing to the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace.
